Yep that was my next avenue — it may have limited DHCP range, say 2 addresses in the pool. Try turning your phone off and see if it gets an address. MIght, might not. Then consider that it has mac address filtering turned on the router. If so you need to get into it and either add your mac addy or turn mac addressing off, but i'd leave it on as it helps just a wee bit for casual 'hackers'. Cheers for the advice, however I now have it sorted, with the help of the very helpful and quick to answer Samsung helpline.
Numlock was on, which meant when I typed in the network key it was incorrect, but as I couldn't see the characters I had no way of knowing!!! The helpline guy did say it's quite a common problem with a lot of Samsung netbooks going out with Numlock on.

I've got the new one and it seems to be ok for another week, than i realized an issue with wireless lan features. Until i am in the same access point room it work fine, than one wall is enough to loose connection.
I see always his powerful signal but can't connect. I have kind of netgear FMP. Strange, because every notebook is able to work normally, even my handy can surf the web touch cruise. So i was back again to shop and changed again.. Anyway, changing setting like " Only sometimes i had to restart this setting again to get connection because at a new power on of the system, still is not able to get connection Looking at the net, it seems to be a problem mostly using netgear access point ones So i'm thinking to remove this Atheros wireless card and install one from Intel like agn I've got exactly the same problem but can't install the old driver.
I've downloaded it and unzipped it but XP won't install it. I try to use the update driver function - then browse to the folder where the old driver files are but then XP says it isn't a better version. I've tried deleting the existing. I must say I am very dissappointed with this!
It's a brand new netbook and can't believe that customers should be messing around installing old wireless drivers?? The other issue is Samsung don't seem to have any history on this - if it was the driver surely there would be a massive amount of info on it??
Are you still finding this driver to be ok and if so perhaps you could help me to understand how to force the installation Thanks D. Unbelievable - particularly since there are at least 6 or 7 other wireless devices around the house that work perfectly.
Needless to say I am pretty annoyed about the wasted time but even more annoyed about the fact my newish WNRT seems to be unusable. It's got the latest firmware installed so I guess theres not much I can do. Can anyone explain why this could be? Is it the dodgy Netgear router or something weird about this Atheros wireless card.
Any ideas would be appreciated Thanks. Have encounted similar issues as stated above with my own NC Instant solid wi-fi connection and no issues since. Hope this works for others However when I now boot up the OS loads successfully but when I try to add the airport as suggested in several guides there is no option to add this. I was under the impression that the dell dw doesn't need additional drivers installed to enable it to work.
I have tried enabling the wifi from the functions keys but this has had no effect. The wifi LED is displayed as a constant blue. Any suggestions help greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. May 3, at pm May 4, at pm May 5, at am As with others in this thread it shows that the signal is great but doesn't get a proper connection. However if I hold it within 1 foot of the wireless router it connects ok My other PC is on the other side of the house and conects to the router wirelessly without a problem.
I reset the NC10 to the original build and same problem I'm taking mine back to PCWorld on Saturday and am going to do some shouting. I'm seeing similar stories on forums but nobody has found a solution, or shown how to replace the wifi card or what the best one is to get My son had the same problem, got it nice and new , set it up all himself , the router dynamically allocates an IP address.
A couple of weeks later BAM! NO connectivity. How do you know which one to use? You with me? Hope this helps.. BTW the way if you get an IP conflict i. Mowen , Jan 19, You must log in or sign up to reply here. Show Ignored Content. Similar Threads - Samsung NC10 wireless.
