Windows vista programs run at startup

However, since malicious programs are not able to create tasks in Task Scheduler without triggering some other security system, there is no way that a malicious program to sneak into the system using this technique.

You had to check the registry in more than one place, as well as your start menu. You could have also opened Windows Defender and fooled around with the menus until you find the right spot, but this seems quicker to me.
